No more a teenager !!

Hey Friends,

It feels so nice to be back writing an article on my blog. Trust me no matter how much I write for other mediums blogging till date is still my favorite medium to write. The main reason being, on my blog I am myself, I am neither a chief executive editor nor a features editor, no pressure no time limit and most importantly I blog when I am in my best of moods. This is one of the reasons why the time period between the two blogs is never fixed. After the last topic, the next topic was always going to be an issue but as I experience every time the topics somehow the other just comes to my mind.

The month of August is a special month in many ways but for me it is, as this the month in which I was born. Though for me birthdays are never a source of excitement but this birthday was something really special all due to the efforts of my friends in surprising me in every aspect, be it my gift or be it in college canteen. But one more important thing that was noticeable on this birthday was, I am now 20 years old. I am not a teenager any more L So the topic of this blog was obvious “the teenage”.

The teenage- the age which is by far the best period in an individual’s life. I entered my teenage as a small boy with that water bottle around my neck and a school bag which was double my size. Umm na I was more fatter than my school bag :P Everyone used to inform me “it is your teenage” the best period of your life and I always used to have this big question mark on my face, “What are they talking about?” The initial years went normally, no big change in my life and everything normal and monotonous. But then arrived the years which taught me why this age is so memorable! Everything starts off with the friends’ circle you form in your school and those first night outs and what not! Slowly and gradually that attraction towards the opposite sex increases not necessarily as  bf/gf, just asking for friendship (there are also those goons in the class who will always term this things as bad and they never move out of books, 90% of us don’t belong to them ;) )

That boys-girls circle is formed and you feel that is the best thing to happen. Those group gossips, class politics and what not! Then after the initial stage there comes that special gathering where everyone just reveals their crush, their problems and suddenly the term best friends comes into the picture.
Then arrives those important years of your lives where you select your field science/commerce. With that the classes are shuffled and that initial days are very tough to pass as to adjust to the new atmosphere is really difficult. You miss you “best friends” but slowly and steadily you adapt to the situations and again another friend circle is formed. New friends, new gossips and new atmosphere, life again becomes exciting and the same process repeats. While many find their love and many loose them and majority don’t have the guts to tell their crushes that how much they love them! Just getting their glimpse is the sole reason why the classes are attended and to get any bit of information about them, gives so much satisfaction that even scoring full marks in the test won’t give you. That first hi, that first high five, that friendship still has a special place in your heart. Finally when he/she reveals that they love someone else that silly heart breaks and sleepless nights. (I know you are smiling reading this. Common scenario ;) ) With all these silly things school life comes to an end and you are like this is the best phase of my life and I will miss it like hell.

Now comes the final years of the teenage, the college life. With the introduction of college life, insteps one important element –“the social media”. The day your orientation takes place, you feel like the place is hell, no friends nothing good, how will I survive over here? But slowly everything oozes out, in comes that search of the hottest or cutest person in the campus. That silly planning and plotting to get their phone nos. and those silly heart attacks you get when you send them friend request on facebook. The jou you get when they accept it and so starts the new life cycle, but the same old story. New friends, new crushes, new atmosphere but one thing that is new is “bunks”. The memorable bunks, that chatting during the classrooms, that late night online chats, that group chats, that 12 o’clock celebrations of birthdays, splashing cakes, giving parties. While these things happen, in comes the entry of bfs/gfs, the life seems totally wonderful by then. Those gifts, those dates, those late night conversations. The best part being discussing those with your friends the next day and the joy you get when they say “ditto, we did the same thing”. As time moves on some relationship lasts while some meets its end. Those who become single feel that being single is the best part of life, while some simply can’t get over their ex, some get so much pleasure discussing the quarrels they had with their ex and those laugs they get discussing them is priceless. Those mini heart attacks you get when you just cross your ex and then discussing it with your friends “be locha thayi gaya”, the result of it- everyone has that big laugh at your situation except for you. With that comes the quest to achieve fame in the small campus to show of the creativity- dancing, singing etc on those cultural nights and asking your “sources” as to what the hostels are talking about you ;).

All these things, come to an end when you reach 20 and the quest for future starts! Life is again that boring but the difference is you know the same cycle won’t be repeating because that was teenage and it was special!

By the time teenage is understood it has already passed by. This is probably the first time I have written a blog not sitting in my house but on a holiday and this is the first time even before writing it I know that this piece of writing is special. This is the teenage life, while those of you who have already passed by this phase will have a quite smile on their faces while those who are in it will also have a special smile but will be realizing it what they will soon be missing!

Life in DDU,Nadiad Part - III, Those 5 hours

Hey Friends,
It has been a long time since my last blog post and how did I miss writing on my favorite medium! Anyways the time from the last blog to this has been a time of ups and downs. College life has started again as usual with the same boring schedule, same old labs, same boring lectures and last but the most important the same fun with all the friends.

The college reopened and the feeling I got was I am in 5th semester now. I had a thought that these are the last 3 semesters of my college life and that just vanished the smile on my face. After which my mind recalled an incident. This was during the making of the convocation special issue of DDU Connect and we the team were the very lucky few to attend the convocation. At that time I didn’t actually understood the true value of the function but at this moment I could figure it out why my seniors were so happy yet so sad!

One day or to be precise 5 to 6 hrs that is what you get on the convocation day to say goodbye. Good bye to all the friends to the memories, a final glance and good bye to your crush, a final good bye to the place which have turned us to a respectable citizen of our country. The pain is that DDU is such an university where we meet people belonging to all the parts of our state and not a particular city. That is the day when you realize that this is probably the last time you are meeting all the friends you made! Ofcourse “friends forever” and “we will stay in touch” are just phrases which will limit to only a group of people but not your batch mates not your class mates. One day is all what we get to bid the final good byes to the place which we hated as the schedules were too hectic but at the last day this is the place we will love the most!

One fine Friday I went to Rajhans cinema (in the 5th semester) with my very good friend Anish Desai (Courtesy DDU Connect for our friendship ;) ) and that day evening I again went to the same place with my group (read UCF) and the first thing I had in my mind was this is the place I used to visit every 3 days in my 1st year and I have not been here since one full year. That was the day I made up mind that  lets make these 3 semester the most memorable days of our lives. I don’t want to regret on the last day that I didn’t do many things just because I was worried about scoring CPI’s and at the end scored the same which other people scored but they enjoyed their college life more than what I did. This will be probably our last “Claro”, last “Nakshatra” and most importantly last year of DDU Connect. Let us just make this the most memorable 1 and half years of our life because right after this that greedy world is waiting for us so it can eat us up.

I know this blog post is not the way I write it is somewhat school boy stuff but this was something I had to write. The only reason is may be we few people had the opportunity to see what happens on the last day, one day is what you get to bid final good byes to almost 600 people. Let us just enjoy this last bit of freedom!

Kaab milenge na jaane hum yaaro firse sabhi,
lautkar aabna aaenge who masti bhare din kabhi….”
